Two Bow Ranch

Two Bow Ranch: A Legacy of Family, History, and Stewardship in the Texas Hills

Nestled high above Medina, Texas, Two Bow Ranch is more than 3,000 acres of restored hill country — it’s a living legacy of land, family, and history. Purchased by Ron and Fran Toms 21 years ago, the once cedar-choked landscape has been carefully transformed into a thriving haven for wildlife and weekend family gatherings.

From controlled burns and native grass restoration to creating a museum-like collection of Native American artifacts, Toms has poured his heart into this land. With help from experts and loved ones, the ranch has revealed prehistoric burial mounds, caves, and evidence of Apache travel, uncovering a rich past while shaping a meaningful future. The ranch’s wildlife — including white-tail deer, buffalo, and rare Pere David’s — thrives thanks to carefully planned food plots and habitat improvements.

The ranch is also a cherished family retreat, where three generations gather, share meals, and reconnect with nature — phones down, stars up. For Toms, it’s about more than ownership. “I suppose I needed the ranch, but prior to having it, I didn’t realize I needed it.”
