For over 50 years, our company has been providing local landowners, farmers and ranchers with materials and supplies necessary for a wide variety of applications: game and livestock fencing, new and used pipe, structural steel, gates & cattleguards, livestock & equipment trailers, water system components, metal building materials, hunting equipment and even BBQ pits. The list of what we don’t do when it comes to improvements on the farm or ranch is a short one.

Our story began when in the late 50’s Mr. Pete Knowles opened Gensco Inc. here in Uvalde, Texas. Knowles’ initial focus was selling surplus related items to farmers and ranchers. Eventually the business grew into the largest independent steel pipe distributor in the U.S. delivering structural pipe, well casing, and line pipe for oil and gas transmission and gathering systems across the nation. The business changed hands several times and in 1985, Uvalco Supply Inc. came into being when the late Howard T. Langford, Louis Capt and current President and general manager, Carper Capt, purchased the “Farm and Ranch supply” division of Gensco.

Uvalco’s retail store, fabrication facility, and 25 acre yard is located where it all began…..in Uvalde, 70 miles west of San Antonio and in the heart of the South Texas ranching and farming region. Uvalde was named for a Spanish conquistador and one of the earliest settlements in the area was a Spanish mission. So perhaps it is no coincidence that here at Uvalco, we consider it our mission to provide the best in products and services when it comes to farm and ranch supplies.

Uvalco’s vast selection of inventory includes all the materials needed for any type of ranch fence project – including structural pipe of any size for corner and line posts, net wire, barb wire, game-proof fence, T-posts, gates, cattle panels, etc. – additionally we maintain a fabrication shop on site where we build stock and custom metal gates, cattle guards, feeders, troughs and whatever else our customers might develop a need for. Our yard is stocked with both new and used pipe of all sizes and wall thickness to meet any need including structural applications, oilfield casing and line pipe, piling, road boring, sign post material etc… Our structural steel inventory includes angle, channel, I-beam, flat and round stock, and plate steel. In our store departments include, tools & hardware, water well supplies, pipe fittings, industrial paint and welding supplies, and truck & trailer accessories. Some of the more “fun” stuff includes a huge selection of Lodge cast iron cookware and other outdoor cooking equipment and hunting supplies. And for those landowners who have the need for any type or size of metal building, we are also a general contractor and can provide turnkey construction for any metal building project you may have in mind. Our experienced staff is not limited to agricultural buildings as our portfolio includes car dealerships, machine shops, manufacturing facilities and commercial warehouses, office buildings, and residential metal retro-fit roof installations.
