When you visit Uvalco, you’re just as likely to see our founder and president, Carper Capt, at work in our custom weld shop as you are to see him behind a desk running the company.  Long before he acquired Uvalco, Carper worked as a welder.  The owner at that time put him to work in the yard, but typical of any farm and ranch business, there was plenty of work to be done everywhere.  One day they were shorthanded in the weld shop and Carper was directed to assist with some very basic welds.  After a short introductory course from the master welder, it was off to the races….. Carper was a natural.  And even though he now owns that shop, there’s no place in the company he’d rather be than working with our craftsmen on his latest design.

Uvalco’s custom weld operation routinely takes on projects that require design and build for special applications or when multiple units are needed.  We specialize in creating exclusive, hand-fabricated metal products for all ranching, farmer and hunting needs.  Our extensive metalwork capabilities enable us to create an entire project from scratch.  A large part of our custom weld business is producing products out of necessity.  We are constantly in touch with the market place and the demands of our customers so that when we see a need for something that requires steel, we design and create it…..bottom line:  we design and build metal products that make life easier for the hunter, rancher or farmer, including:

Uvalco is particularly known for our unique line of outdoor fire pits.  Handcrafted by our metalworks artisans, Uvalco’s pits are as attractive as they are functional. Most of the welding is polished or hidden from sight so you get a beautiful, heavy duty fire pit that lasts a lifetime.

We are also expert fabricators of all types of cattle guards – from large cattle guards for the oilfield industry that can handle an overloaded semi-truck or heavy rigging being hauled to and from a well site – to guards that need to hold up to everyday traffic at the ranch.

Uvalco custom-manufactures a large variety of gate sizes and styles, including the hardware – from familiar to fancy, we can custom design and build a gate that will stand up to any kind of use and weather.

Our expertise also extends to design and build for hunting blinds.  Hunters need blinds that are built for comfort and longevity, so we make sure that each blind we build lasts season after season.
